Say Cheese is episode 35a of Edward and Eric. It premiered on Kids' WB on February 26, 2000.

Synopsis[]

For a school project, Edward records a video showing what a day at Avenue A Apartment looks like.

Cast (WIP)[]

  • Andrew Rannells as Edward and Oscar
  • Josh Peck as Eric
  • Mark DeCarlo as Paul

Trivia[]

  • For the entirety of the episode up until the end, it is designed to look exactly like a home movie (e.g. interlacing, static being used to transition from one scene to the next, slightly fuzzy image quality, a time stamp occasionally appearing on the upper/bottom left of the screen, etc). The title card and the opening credits are this way as well.
    • Because of this, this is one of the only two episodes in the series that has a title card. The next one would be Cycling for Morons.
  • This episode is available to watch on the Student of the Week VHS and DVD, and the Season 3 Volume 1 box set.
  • This is one of the very few episodes with a completely different background for the opening credits.
  • Waltzing Flutes by Gerhard Narholz serves as the title card track.
  • Although this episode premiered in 2000, it was produced in 1999 according to the copyright date at the end of the credits.
  • This episode premiered during the Kids' WB's Fantastic Firsts marathon, where it aired after a rerun of The Eddy Beginning.
  • To fit with the home video theme, the writers and storyboard artists are credited as the Pearson brothers respectively in the opening credits (e.g. "Written by Edward and Eric Pearson").
  • Edward's original nickname from the development of the series ("PC Guy") is directly jabbed at in the beginning.
  • The "The End" screen immediately appears after the batteries for Edward's camera die, as opposed to appearing after an iris out.

Transcript[]

(The episode opens with brief static, and we see Edward gently placing the camera down on his bedroom desk)

Edward: Good evening, Culinary class of 7th period. I am Pearson Edwards with- (realizes his mistake) Wait.

(Static)

Edward: (clears his throat) Good afternoon, Technology Education class of 7th period. I am PC Guy with- (realizes his mistake again and facepalms) That's a stupid name.

(Static)

Edward: Good afternoon, Technology Edu- (suddenly, he begins giggling)

(Static)

(To avoid anymore mistakes, Edward holds several separate pieces of construction paper that, in order, read the following: "GOOD AFTERNOON, TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION OF 7TH PERIOD", "I AM EDWARD PEARSON", "HERE TO TAKE MY PART..." "...IN THE PROJECT DEMONSTRATING OUR HOME LIVES")

(He prepares to take out the last sheet, until he realizes he accidentally grabbed an embarrassing photo of his infant self bathing in the kitchen sink. In the picture, he is clearly afraid of the water)

Edward: Wait a minute.

(Static; we see him tangled in the camera's tape)

Edward: How do you, (grunts) delete footage?!

(Suddenly, his body splits into tiny pieces)
