Trivia[]

  • This is Snodgrass' first appearance on the show.
  • Since this episode was originally produced for Season 3, the animation is a lot better and more expressive than the rest of Season 4.
  • This episode is available to watch on The Best of Snodgrass VHS, as well as the Misadventures in the West DVD (outside of the United States, it is available on the An Onix-pected Adventure DVD instead) and the Season 4 Volume 1 box set.
  • The title is a reference to the 1989 film, Star Trek: The Final Frontier.
  • Although this episode premiered in 2001, it was produced in 2000 according to the copyright date at the end of the credits.
  • An Aesop: It doesn't matter how likable you are - there's going to be someone somewhere who won't like you. In fact, they may not even need a reason to hate you.

Errors[]

  • When Edward is screaming and running from Snodgrass, his sleeve becomes transparent for a brief second.

Transcript[]

(The episode opens at the school's annual talent show. Edward is inventing something in front of the entire school. He is wearing a blowtorch mask, and he eventually takes it off)

Edward: Well, folks, I have finally finished my greatest invention yet!

(The camera pans out to reveal...)

Edward: A microwave that heats the food instead of the bowl! (presses a button that surprisingly doesn't make any noise) It comes with a Night Mode, for those hungry night owls.

Oscar: (lands on Edward's shoulder, causing Edward to slightly jump in fear, and hoots)

(The audience is in amazement)

Edward: When it's activated, the microwave will never beep. (takes out a frozen chicken, puts it in, and presses another button) There is also an Apocalypse Mode, specifically designed for when your mother pulls up in the driveway and you forgot to take out the chicken she told you to defrost hours ago.

(The audience wildly cheers, but in the crowd, we see a silhouetted figure sporting glasses)

???: (irritated) Hmph.
